I received a call today on my cell. the woman asked to speak with me by my name and said she had telephoned a nurse to confirm my son was (and said his full name) surgery next week. My son is not sick, or surgery. Moreover, we have never, to the hospital or doctor, the operation was ordered. The nurse was visibly nervous when she found something really, really bad to have some control and let me know that the NHS patient who was operating the same SSN for my son and two characters have been created, and because he had consulted a doctor in another hospital, but on the same network, their system automatically entered all my info Sun She had all our info, social security numbers, private label and cleaner. He also went on to say that your system is not set to cross reference data for others, such as name, date of birth, anything! Imagine if I had not called? What if you were my son's file with another patient on the operating table? Why not have some type of backup to say, "Hey wait! There is a problem ?!?!?" Does anyone know all the details of the HIPAA privacy laws and guidelines? I recommend the local defense of the hospital, but I wonder if I should take further steps and I'm no legal reason to do so?
